Killick Connection Week
Creating a Home together can be a challenge when you don’t yet live together. The vast majority of our members are from Newfoundland-Labrador but not close enough for an afternoon tea. Then there’s our few, but beloved mainlanders from as far as New Brunswick, Ontario, and even BC – some with local roots returning home, and others taking the leap. A lot of us only know each other from the neck up on our Zoom screens.
At the end of August we welcomed all friends near and far to Come Home for a week of work, play, and community building. We flew kites, built a greenhouse, made decisions, moved tree seedlings, painted wooden fish (Why? For fun!), enjoyed a sunset lantern walk, and of course filled our boots with feast after feast.
One of our members shared his experience of the week on his life & travel blog below. It captures the fun, the deepened connection, and the eager anticipation we all feel for this community we’re building together.
